New Shelter Dream Becomes a Reality! In a 5-0 vote this afternoon the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of the property at 6425 Capitol Avenue, Diamond Springs for the new Western Slope Animal Shelter! Thanks so much to the many shelter supporters who packed the audience today wearing large paw print buttons and to those who sent letters, emails and mades phone calls. This is a GREAT day in the history of El Dorado County, as this will be the first permanent animal shelter for the West Slope.
Escrow closes Friday and then the site prep work will begin. ETA for the new shelter opening–Summer 2014! A big Woof and Meow to all of you who have helped so much along the way these past 8 years…we did it!
